Restocking
Keep your warehouse stock under control and order replenishment directly from your phone. SiltaFlow shows at a glance how many products need to be reordered, how urgently, and allows you to start orders on Odoo in seconds — without turning on your computer.
Overview
Restocking is the SiltaFlow function that allows you to manage stock replenishment directly from your smartphone. Each product in your warehouse can have a minimum and maximum threshold configured on Odoo: when the stock falls below the minimum, SiltaFlow signals it and allows you to order replenishment with a simple touch.
You can access the Restock from the main screen of SiltaFlow, in the Warehouse section. The screen opens immediately showing the products that need attention, so you don't have to search for them manually.
This feature is only available if the Inventory module of Odoo is installed and active. If the module is not present, SiltaFlow shows an informational message instead of the operational screen.
The summary dashboard
When you open the Reassortment, at the top of the screen you will find four numerical boxes that immediately give you an overview of the situation:
- Total — The total number of products with a reorder rule configured in the active warehouse.
- To Order — How many products need replenishment today, i.e. those with stock below the minimum threshold.
- Critical — Products with zero or out of stock. They are the most urgent ones: the warehouse no longer has them.
- Low — Products with still some units in stock, but already below the minimum. They require replenishment soon.
The four boxes update automatically when you change the filter of the list below, so you always have the count corresponding to the current view.
Look at the "To Order" box each morning at the start of your shift. If the number is zero, the inventory is all within parameters and no action is needed.
Product sheets
Below the dashboard you will find the list of products, each presented in a compact tab. Each tab shows all the information you need to decide whether and how much to order:
- Product Name and Location — The product to reorder and the location in the warehouse to which the rule refers.
- Inventory / Minimum / Maximum — The three key values: how many units are there now, what is the configured minimum threshold and what is the desired maximum level.
- Quantity to Order — The number of units to request, automatically calculated by Odoo based on current stock and maximum level.
- Fillment bar — A colored bar that displays how full the warehouse is compared to the maximum: red if critical, orange if low, green if normal.
- Status Indicator — A colored badge in the corner of the card: red for Critical, yellow for Low, green for OK.
Cards in Critical and Low status also display an "Order" button to initiate replenishment of that individual product. Tabs in the OK state do not show the button, because they do not require any action.
Order refueling
You have two ways to start refueling: one at a time or all at once.
Single order
Tap the "Order" button on the product listing you want to restock. The app shows a loading animation directly on the card and, after a few seconds, a confirmation that the order has been generated on Odoo. The tab is marked as completed.
The single order is the right choice when you want to manage a specific product carefully, or when you are responding to an emergency reported by an operator.
Order all (mass order)
At the bottom right of the screen you will find a floating button that says "Order all" and the total number of products to restock. By touching it, SiltaFlow starts the replenishment of all the products that need it in a single operation, regardless of which filter is active at that moment.
All tabs show a progress animation, and upon completion you receive a confirmation of the number of orders generated. The "Order All" button is automatically disabled when there are no products to replenish.
Use "Sort all" when you are sure that the thresholds configured on Odoo are up to date and reliable. For your routine morning drive, it's the fastest way to handle all of the day's restocks in seconds.
Before ordering, check in the app settings that the warehouse selected is the correct one. The generated orders are associated with the active warehouse: an error in this step creates orders on the wrong warehouse.
List filters
Three buttons at the top of the list allow you to focus on the most relevant products at that moment. The filter change is instantaneous, without reloading data from the server.
- All — Shows the entire list of products with a reorder rule configured, even those with inventory in the parameters. Useful for a complete overview or to find a specific product.
- Needs Restocking — The default filter on opening: only shows products with stock below the minimum threshold, i.e. those that require action today. It is the normal operational view for daily management.
- Critical — Show only products with zero or out of stock. For emergency interventions when time is short and you want to focus only on the most urgent cases.
The "Sort all" button always affects all products that need replenishment, not just those visible in the current filter. The number it shows reflects the grand total, regardless of the active filter.
What happens on Odoo
When you tap "Order" on a tab, SiltaFlow asks Odoo to start the replenishment process for that product. Odoo automatically generates the most appropriate order based on the rule configuration:
- A purchase order to the supplier, if the product is sourced through external purchasing
- A production order, if the product is manufactured internally
- An internal transfer from another warehouse, if the product is available elsewhere
SiltaFlow does not create orders directly: it delegates all the logic to Odoo, which decides how to replenish based on the product and warehouse configuration. In this way the behavior is always consistent with the rules set by those who manage Odoo.
After ordering, open Odoo from your browser to review generated orders, check assigned suppliers and expected delivery dates. SiltaFlow confirms that the operation occurred, but does not show the details of the created order.
Use cases
Morning ride
Every morning, before picking operations begin, the warehouse manager opens SiltaFlow and goes to restocking. The dashboard immediately shows how many products need replenishment. If the number is manageable and the rules are up to date, tap "Order All" and within seconds Odoo generates all the necessary orders. The morning ride is completed in less than a minute, without turning on the computer.
Emergency during shift
An operator reports that a critical component is running out. The manager activates the "Critical" filter to immediately see the products with zero inventory, finds the reported component and taps "Order" on his card. The urgent order is generated on Odoo in a few seconds, without interrupting the other activities of the shift.
Weekly review
On Friday afternoon, the purchasing manager uses the "All" filter to scroll through the complete list of products. It sees both those to be reordered and those still in the parameters, with the fill bar indicating how much space there is before reaching the minimum threshold. This allows him to anticipate replenishments for products with long lead times, avoiding critical situations the following week.
Update the data
The stock values shown in the tabs correspond to the moment you opened the screen. If during the session there are receipts of goods, picks or rejects that modify the stocks, the displayed values do not change automatically.
To refresh the data, drag the list downwards (pull-to-refresh) or exit the screen and re-enter. In this way SiltaFlow downloads the updated values from Odoo and the dashboard reflects the current warehouse situation.
Limitations and requirements
Before using Restock, keep these limitations in mind:
- Unmodifiable quantity — The quantity to order is automatically calculated by Odoo and cannot be modified from the app before sending the order. If you want to order a different quantity, you must change the reorder rule on Odoo or adjust the order after it has been created.
- Connection Required — Restock does not work offline. Connection to the server Odoo is required both to upload data and to start orders.
- Inventory Module Odoo required — The feature is available only if the Inventory module of Odoo is installed. On standard installations of Odoo 16 and 17 the module is always present.
- Odoo permissions required — The Odoo account configured in the app must have the Warehouse Manager role or higher to be able to start replenishments. A basic warehouse worker only role may not have sufficient permissions.
- One warehouse per session — The screen shows the rules only for the warehouse selected in the app settings. To manage a different warehouse, change the selection in the settings and reload the screen.
- No display of created orders — SiltaFlow confirms that the order has been started, but does not show the details (supplier, delivery date, reference). To consult the generated orders, open Odoo from your browser.
- No Time Schedule — Order starts immediately upon touch. It is not possible to schedule a restock for a future date from the app.
- The choice of supplier or method depends on Odoo — If a product can be replenished in more than one way (purchase, production, transfer), Odoo chooses the priority method based on the configuration. SiltaFlow does not allow you to choose which method to use.
Tips
Make restocking control a daily routine. Opening it every morning takes a few seconds, and an empty "Needs Restock" filter means the warehouse is in order: no action necessary.
In the event of an urgent report from an operator, immediately use the "Critical" filter to isolate out-of-stock products and act without distractions.
After a mass restock, open Odoo from your browser to review generated orders, confirm suppliers and check delivery dates. Rush orders may require direct contact with the supplier.
If goods were received or rejects were made during the shift, update the list with a pull-to-refresh before ordering. This avoids reordering products that have already been restocked by another delivery in the meantime.
The quality of the Restocking depends on the quality of the thresholds configured on Odoo. Too high minimum thresholds generate many "To Order" even when the warehouse is well stocked; thresholds that are too low hide critical situations. Periodic review of the values on Odoo improves the reliability of daily monitoring.
