Production Orders
Operational guide to finding, reading and managing production orders: list, filters, MO detail, actions, editor, wizards and practical cases.
Overview
Production Orders is the entry point for understanding what is happening on Odoo MOs. You can find an order, open the detail, check components and work orders, read linked documents, create or edit an MO when allowed and run the main actions.
The order list
SiltaFlow loads up to 100 production orders. Search is local to the loaded list, so if an MO is missing check filters, state and Odoo permissions.
- Search — MO reference, product, origin or produced lot/serial.
- Ready — orders with reserved material.
- Waiting — confirmed or material-waiting orders.
- In progress — orders currently being processed.
- Late and quality — exceptions for supervisors.
For a morning review, start with late and quality issues, then switch to ready orders for assignable work.
Working in the MO detail
- Check MO reference, product, quantity and state.
- Review component availability and consumption.
- Open work orders and work centers if used.
- Read linked documents before starting production.
- Check quality and anomalies before closing.
Confirm, reserve and complete
- Confirm — moves a draft order into an operational state.
- Reserve materials — asks Odoo to assign available components.
- Mark done — tries to close the MO; if Odoo returns a wizard, a decision is required on quantities, immediate production or backorder.
An Odoo wizard is often a decision point, not a generic error. Read produced quantity, remaining quantity and backorder choice before confirming.
Create or edit an MO
- Select the product.
- Enter a quantity greater than zero.
- Select a BOM only when you want to force it.
- Set dates and origin if useful.
- Save and recheck generated components and work orders.
Practical examples
Find a late urgent order
- Apply the late filter.
- Search product or origin.
- Open the detail and check components and work orders.
- If material is missing, involve the warehouse; otherwise reserve or progress the order.
Close a partial MO
- Compare planned, produced and consumed quantities.
- Run mark done.
- If Odoo proposes a backorder, check the residual quantity.
- Confirm only after deciding whether the remaining work must stay planned.
Tips
- Use unique references such as MO number, lot or origin.
- Before editing a planned order, check reserved material and work orders.
- If documents are empty, check Odoo attachments and user permissions.
- Before mark done, always check quality, components and finished goods.
Requirements and limits
- The list shows up to 100 MOs and search does not query the entire database.
- Create and edit depend on Odoo permissions and order state.
- Quality issue filters require access to quality checks.
- Completion and backorders remain governed by Odoo wizards and rules.
