Stock Search
Search any product in your warehouse and discover immediately where it is, in what quantity and with which lot — directly from your Android device, without opening Odoo.
Overview
The Stock Search screen is the quickest way to know what's in your warehouse. Just type two or more letters of a product name or code — or scan its barcode — and in less than a second you see a list of all positions where that product is located, with the relative quantities.
Each result immediately shows the product, location, lot number (if applicable) and available quantity highlighted with a color code: green for sufficient stock, orange for stock running out, red for product exhausted. No need to open any document or order: the answer is immediate.
Tapping a result opens the complete product detail: a summary of Total, Reserved and Available across all locations, and row-by-row detail. From here you can correct the quantity directly from the app, without returning to the computer.
Stock Search is a completely online function: it requires an active connection to the Odoo server. Make sure you've already configured the connection before using it (see the Connection and Authentication guide).
Searching for a Product
When you open the Stock Search screen, you find a search field in the center. You can find a product in three ways:
- Search by text — Type the product name, internal code or part of it. Results appear automatically after the first two characters, without needing to press Enter.
- Hardware scanner (Zebra / DataWedge) — If you use a device with integrated scanner, point and press the trigger. The code is received automatically by the app and search starts instantly, without touching the screen.
- Camera — Tap the camera button at the bottom right and frame the barcode with the device camera. The app recognizes the code and immediately shows results.
Searching by internal code is often more precise than searching by name: codes are unique and just a few characters are needed to find exactly the right product.
Results appear as cards, one for each combination of product, location and lot found. If a product is in three different locations, you'll see three separate cards. If it has multiple lots in the same location, each lot appears in a separate card.
If you scan a GS1-128 or GS1 DataMatrix label that also contains the lot number, the app automatically recognizes it and shows the result already filtered for that specific lot — without having to search for it manually.
Reading the Results
Each card in the results list contains all essential information at a glance:
- Product name — displayed in bold at the top of the card
- Internal code — the product's identification code in the system
- Location — the full path of the warehouse position (e.g., WH/Stock/A-01-02), highlighted in blue
- Lot number — displayed in purple if the product is tracked by lot; absent for non-tracked products
- Available quantity — the large number on the right, colored based on availability
The Quantity Color Code
The color of the quantity number tells you the inventory situation at a glance:

Product Detail
Tap a card in the list to open the complete product detail. The screen is organized in three blocks:
- Header — full product name, internal code and barcode
- Aggregate summary — three numbers side by side: Total (sum of all locations), Reserved (locked by orders in progress), Available (what you can actually use). These numbers also use the color code.
- Detail by location — one row for each location (and lot) where the product is present, with total, reserved and available quantities for each. Each row has the adjust button (pencil icon) on the right.
If you see Available = 0 but Total > 0, it means all inventory is already reserved for orders in progress. The goods physically exist, but are already "committed". Before adjusting, verify if there are active delivery or production orders explaining the reservation.
Correcting Quantity (Quick Adjust)
If during a physical check you notice that the system quantity doesn't match the actual quantity, you can correct it directly from the app without opening Odoo. This operation is called quick adjust.
How to make an adjustment
- Open the product detail by tapping the card in the results list.
- Find the row of the location to correct and tap the pencil icon on the right.
- A window opens with the current quantity already entered. Type the new quantity (the one you counted physically).
- Check the variation preview that appears in real time: a number in blue if you're adding, in red if you're reducing.
- Tap Confirm. The quantity is updated on Odoo instantly and the screen updates with the new value.
The adjustment modifies the actual inventory on Odoo and creates an inventory movement in the register. Use it only to correct actual physical count errors, not for testing. To correct picking or receipt errors, act on the corresponding transfer document.
What adjustment can and cannot do

The adjust button (pencil icon) appears only if your Odoo account has warehouse management permissions. If you don't see it, contact your Odoo administrator.
When to Use Stock Search
Here are situations where Stock Search is particularly useful:
Verify availability before picking
Before going to pick an item, scan the barcode to verify that the quantity you expect really exists, and in which warehouse position the largest stock is located. You avoid unnecessary trips to empty shelves.
Check after goods receipt
After registering goods receipt, search for the product in Stock Search to verify that quantities were recorded correctly in the right location. If the numbers don't match, you can correct immediately from the app.
Spot inventory check
Go physically to a shelf, count the pieces and compare with system data. If there's a discrepancy, open the adjustment, enter the actual quantity and confirm. The inventory register on Odoo updates in real time, without having to return to the desk.
Verify availability before ordering
Before issuing a purchase order, check the Total / Reserved / Available summary. You might discover the goods are already in stock but reserved for other orders — and that it's enough to expedite a delivery rather than buying again.
Identifying lots with remaining stock
Search for a lot-tracked product to see individual lots with their respective quantities. Lots with low inventory (orange color) are easily identified and can be consumed first following FEFO logic.
Practical Examples
Example 1 — Search by name and adjust inventory
- Open Stock Search and type "SCREW M6". After the third character, the app queries Odoo and shows results.
- Four cards appear: two for location A-01-02 (lot 2024-A and lot 2024-B), one for B-03-01 without lot, one for secondary warehouse. The card A-01-02 / 2024-B shows 3 pcs in orange.
- Tap the card to open detail. Summary shows: Total 47 pcs, Reserved 12 pcs, Available 35 pcs.
- Go physically to location A-01-02 and count 8 pieces in lot 2024-B. Tap the pencil on the corresponding row.
- Window shows "Current quantity: 3". Enter 8. Preview shows +5 in blue. Tap Confirm.
- Row updates to 8 pcs (now green) and Total in summary increases to 52 pcs.
Example 2 — Barcode scan with automatic lot
- Hold a package just arrived with GS1-128 label. Tap the camera button in Stock Search.
- Frame the code. App reads the product code and lot number from the GS1 label.
- Detail opens already filtered for that lot. Verify that the location shown matches where you just placed the package.
- If it doesn't match, tap the pencil and correct the quantity in the right location.
Example 3 — Spot inventory with Zebra scanner
- Open SiltaFlow on a Zebra device with Stock Search in foreground. Hardware scanner is already configured.
- Point the scanner at the first label and press the trigger. Product detail opens in less than a second, without touching the screen.
- Count the pieces: system says 20, you find 17. Tap the pencil, enter 17, preview shows -3 in red, confirm.
- Scan next product. The adjustment is already registered on Odoo in the background.
Tips
If you use a Zebra hardware scanner with DataWedge, scanning requires no screen touches: point, press trigger and detail opens. It's the fastest method for spot inventories with dozens of products to verify.
Orange color (1 to 5 units) is the early warning signal: goods aren't exhausted yet, but it's the right time to plan reordering or transfer from another location.
If you see Available low but Total high, doesn't mean goods are missing: they're simply reserved for already-confirmed orders. Check pending documents before deciding to reorder.
Use Stock Search to find <em>what</em> you have in stock and use Browse Locations to see <em>everything</em> in a specific warehouse position. The two tools complement each other.
Requirements and Limits
To use Stock Search:
- Active connection to Odoo server (completely online function, not available offline)
- Search starts with at least 2 characters: it's not possible to view all inventory with empty field
- List shows maximum 200 results: for too generic searches, refine the search term
- For quick adjust you need warehouse management permissions on Odoo
- Adjust doesn't create new lots: the lot must already exist in Odoo
- Adjust modifies quantity in existing location, doesn't move goods between locations
