Delivery
Complete the shipment from your Android device: check the package summary, check the weight, collect the signature, take photos of the documentation and print the DDT — all in a single guided flow, before confirming delivery to the courier.
Overview
The Delivery screen is the last step of the goods issue cycle in SiltaFlow. It opens after the Packaging Area and collects all the information necessary to deliver the shipment to the courier in a traceable and verifiable way: checked weights, signature of the manager or courier, photo of the package and Transport Document.
The flow is made up of configurable steps: checkweighing and signature can be made mandatory in the settings, so the operator cannot proceed to final confirmation without having completed the required checks. Every important action is automatically recorded in the shipment history on Odoo, without the operator having to do anything manually.
If the shipment is modified by another user while the operator is working - for example the back office updates the courier or the quantity - the app automatically updates within a few seconds, avoiding errors at the time of final confirmation.
To access the Delivery screen you must first have completed the packing phase. Partial quantities and the management of incomplete orders are managed in the Packaging Area — it is not possible to do this from Delivery.
Shipping Summary
When you open the Delivery screen, the first thing you see is a complete summary of your shipment. Before doing anything else, take a moment to check that everything matches the physical shipment in front of you.
The summary shows the main information of the shipment:
- Packages and contents — For each package you see the number of items contained and the type of packaging used. If the weight of a package has not been filled in, a warning icon is shown.
- Total Weight — The sum of the weights of all packages, displayed prominently as a reference for the courier.
- Carrier — The name of the carrier assigned to the shipment, to be verified before delivering the packages.
- Tracking Number — The courier tracking number, if already assigned. It is shown as read-only: to modify it you must return to the Packaging Area or use the backend Odoo.
- Recipient customer — Company name and delivery address, for final confirmation before passing the packages to the courier.
If the tracking number is not yet present when the courier arrives, you must enter it in the Packing Area or in the backend Odoo before accessing the Delivery screen. The tracking field is read-only here.
Weight Control
The checkweigher allows you to compare the theoretical weight predicted by Odoo with the actual weight you measure on the scale. When this feature is enabled as mandatory in your settings, you must complete it before you can confirm the shipment.
How to perform weight control
- Tap the Check Weight button on the Delivery screen.
- A window opens showing the expected weight — the value calculated by Odoo based on the weights of the items in the catalog.
- Weigh the shipment on the scale and enter the measured weight in the appropriate field (supports decimals, e.g. 12.450 kg).
- The app automatically calculates the percentage difference between the two values and shows the result with an indicative color.
- Tap Confirm to close the window. The result is automatically recorded in the shipment history on Odoo.
Interpret the colors of the bar
| Color | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Difference within the configured threshold | Confirm normally |
| Amber | Significant but not critical difference | Check the cause (packaging, extra material) and consciously confirm |
| Red | High difference, above double the threshold | Check the contents of the package before confirming — the deviation is recorded as an anomaly |
The predicted weight is only reliable if the weights of the items have been entered correctly in the catalog Odoo. If an item has zero weight or no value, the comparison will not be realistic. Before activating mandatory weight control, verify that all items shipped have the weight updated in Odoo.
Set the tolerance threshold based on your sector: for pharmaceutical or food logistics use narrow values (e.g. 2%), for general logistics you can use wider values (e.g. 5–7%) to avoid false alarms due to the weight of the packaging material not present in the catalogue. The threshold is configured in the app Settings.
Electronic Signature
The electronic signature allows you to collect the signature of the courier or recipient directly on the device screen, as documentary proof of delivery. The signature is automatically attached to the shipment on Odoo.
How to collect a signature
- Tap the Sign for Delivery button on the screen.
- The signature window opens. At the top you will find the Signatory Name field — enter the full name of the person signing (e.g. the name of the courier or customer). This field is required.
- Read the acceptance clause shown under the name field, then have the person sign in the signature box.
- If the signature isn't legible, tap Clear and repeat.
- Tap Accept Signature. The signature image is saved and attached to the shipment at Odoo, with the signer's name in the history.
The signature collected by the app is a simple electronic signature — it is not a certified digital signature. It is acceptable as documentary evidence in almost all commercial and logistical contexts, but is not equivalent to a handwritten signature for legal or notarial documents requiring certified authentication.
Always enter the full name in the signatory field: it allows you to distinguish who collected the goods - the courier, the destination warehouse worker or the direct customer. In case of delivery disputes, the name of the signatory in the history Odoo is the first element of verification.
The signature is lost if the app is closed or sent to the background for a long time before confirming it. Always complete your signature and tap "Accept Signature" before moving on to other apps on your device.
Photo Documentation
You can take photos of packages before delivery to document their status. The photos are automatically attached to the shipment on Odoo and can be used as evidence in case of disputes ("the goods were intact upon departure").
How to take a photo
- Tap the Take Photo button (or choose from the gallery if the photo has already been taken).
- Frame the package or packages to be documented and shoot.
- The app automatically optimizes the photo — reduces the size for quick uploading without appreciable loss of quality — and uploads it as a shipment attachment to Odoo.
- You can take multiple photos for the same shipment, each one is attached separately.
Take at least one photo of each shipment of significant value. The time required is minimal (5 seconds), but in the event of a dispute, the pre-shipment photos stored in Odoo are the most immediate proof of the condition of the packages upon departure.
Print DDT
Before delivering the parcels to the courier you can generate and print the Transport Document directly from the app. The DDT is produced by Odoo in PDF format in a few seconds.
How to print the DDT
- Tap the Print DDT button on the Delivery screen.
- Wait a few seconds while Odoo generates the PDF document.
- A window opens with two options: View to preview the document, or Share to send it to a printer, via email or to other apps installed on your device.
With "Share" you can send the DDT to any Bluetooth printer, network printer, via email or to Google Drive — without having to configure anything specific in the app. The system uses standard Android sharing functions.
DDT printing requires the document template to be active and configured in Odoo. If you receive an error when generating, contact your administrator Odoo to verify that the report is installed correctly. The report name can be customized in the app Settings.
Confirm Shipping
When you have completed all the necessary operations - weight control, signature, photo, transport document - you can confirm the shipment by tapping the Validate button. This is the final action and is not reversible from the app.
Before tapping Validate, check the status indicators on the screen: each completed operation shows a green check, those still to be done show a waiting icon. If the checkweighing or signature is required and has not been completed, the app warns you with an error message instead of proceeding.
Tap Validate immediately confirms the shipment on Odoo. There is no intermediate step of further confirmation. Make sure all the data is correct before proceeding — to cancel a validation already performed you need to access the backend Odoo.
After confirmation, the app automatically returns to the shipping list and the confirmed shipment is removed from the list. On Odoo the shipment is completed.
Practical Examples
B2B courier shipping — full flow
A 4-package shipment to a B2B customer, with weight check and courier signature required.
- Open the shipment from the list. The summary shows: 4 parcels, expected total weight 22.3 kg, DHL courier, customer "Rossi Srl".
- Tap Check Weight. Package weights: 22.1 kg. The difference is 0.9% — green bar. He confirms.
- Tap Sign for Delivery. The DHL driver enters his name and signs on the screen. Tap Accept Signature.
- Tap Print DDT. Share PDF to Bluetooth printer in office. Give the document to the courier.
- All indicators show green ticks. Tap Validate. The app returns to the shipping list. Shipment is confirmed on Odoo.
Weight discrepancy — how to manage it
A package contains items with weights that are not updated in the catalog Odoo.
- Expected weight: 5.0 kg. Measured weight: 6.2 kg. Difference: 24%. The bar is red.
- Check the contents of the package to make sure there are no preparation errors.
- If everything is correct (the catalog is simply not up to date), confirm anyway. The discrepancy is recorded in the shipment history on Odoo with the exact values.
- Report to the administrator Odoo to update the weight of the affected items to avoid the same problem in subsequent shipments.
Photographic documentation of fragile goods
A shipment of valuable electronics requires prior photographic documentation.
- Before calling the courier, tap Take Photo.
- Take 3 photos: front view of closed packages, shipping labels, security seals applied.
- Photos are automatically uploaded as shipment attachments to Odoo.
- If the customer later claims to have received damaged goods, the pre-shipment photos in the system clearly show the condition of the packages upon departure.
Settings
In the app Settings you can configure the behavior of the Delivery screen based on the operational needs of your company.
- Mandatory Check Weight — If enabled, the operator must complete the weight check before the shipment can be confirmed. Useful to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Weight tolerance threshold — The percentage within which the difference between the expected weight and the measured weight is considered acceptable (green color). Below the threshold: green. Between the threshold and the double: amber. Above the double: red.
- Signature Required — If enabled, the operator must collect the signature before the shipment can be confirmed.
- Signature Clause Text — The text of the clause shown to the signer before signing. Customizable by the app administrator (e.g. "I declare that I have received the goods in good condition").
- DDT Template — The name of the report template used to generate the Transport Document. The default value is the standard delivery report of Odoo; can be changed to a custom pattern.
Limitations and Considerations
- No integration with scales — The measured weight must be entered manually. There is no automatic connection with bench scales via Bluetooth or USB. To use a scale, read the weight on the meter and type it into the app field.
- Requires active connection — Delivery screen does not work in offline mode. If the connection to the server Odoo is lost during work, you cannot confirm shipment or perform operations until the network is restored.
- No backorder management here — If the shipment is partial or there are quantities to be managed separately, you must do so in the Packaging Area before arriving at Delivery. From here you can only confirm what has been prepared.
- Confirmation cannot be canceled from the app — Once you tap Valid, the shipment is confirmed immediately on Odoo. You can't cancel it from the mobile app — you have to use the Odoo backend.
- Tracking Read Only — The tracking number shown in the summary cannot be edited from this screen. To insert or change it you must use the Packaging Area or the backend Odoo.
Tips
Before tapping Validate, use the status indicators on the screen as a visual checklist: weight completed, signature added, photos taken (if required), DDT printed. All mandatory steps must show the green check.
Also use the signature for deliveries and internal transfers between departments or warehouses. Operational cost is minimal but creates a traceable chain of custody in Odoo — very useful for equipment, samples or spares.
Before activating the mandatory weight control in production, check that all the items shipped have the weight correctly entered in the catalog Odoo. An updated catalog makes the checkweigher a genuine quality tool instead of a source of false alarms.
Don't worry about manually updating your shipment data as you work. If someone in the office changes the shipment on Odoo — changes the carrier, updates a quantity — the app automatically detects the change in seconds and displays the updated data, without having to reload anything.
