General Settings

Everything you can configure in SiltaFlow in one guide: language, screen scale, barcode scanner, voice commands, backup, subscription, warehouse settings and admin panel.

Overview

The Settings screen in SiltaFlow collects all app configuration parameters in logical groups. You can access it at any time by tapping the gear icon in the bottom right of the main screen. Changes are applied immediately, except where indicated otherwise (some visual settings require app restart).

Settings are organized into seven main sections: Connections, AI Configuration, Warehouse, General, Backup and Restore, Admin Mode and App Info.

Most settings are active immediately after modification, without restarting the app. Exceptions are indicated in the corresponding section.

Language and UI Scale

These two settings control how SiltaFlow appears on your screen. They work completely independently from your phone's system settings: you can use SiltaFlow in English even if your Android is in Italian, and vice versa.

App language

SiltaFlow supports six language options:

Option Description
System Language Follows the language set in Android. If your phone language is not supported, the app uses English automatically. Default value.
Italiano Forces Italian throughout the app, regardless of phone language.
English Forces English throughout the app.
Deutsch Forces German throughout the app.
Français Forces French throughout the app.
Español Forces Spanish throughout the app.

After changing the language, the app restarts automatically to apply the new strings. Data in progress is not lost.

UI Scale

The UI scale changes the size of text, icons and buttons throughout the app. Useful for those working with gloves, in low visibility conditions, or on very large or very small screens.

Level When to use it
90% — Compact Shows more rows and content on screen. Ideal on tablets or for users with good eyesight who prefer high information density.
95% Slightly more compact than default.
100% — Default Optimal balance for smartphones from 5" to 6.5". Recommended value for most uses.
110% Larger and easier to touch elements. Recommended if you work with gloves.
120% — Large Maximum readability. You see less content per screen but every element is very clear.

After choosing a new scale, the app displays a warning and requests a restart to apply the changes.

Hardware Scanner

Path: Settings > General > Hardware Scanner. Here you can enable USB/Bluetooth/integrated scanners on native screens, set auto-confirm quantity 1, scan timeout 50-300 ms, prefix/suffix removal, beep, vibration and camera scanner button visibility.

Supported scanner types

SiltaFlow supports three barcode acquisition modes:

Intent DataWedge mode applies to native SiltaFlow screens. In Odoo Web/WebView, DataWedge intents are not forwarded to the web field: use the camera button or a separate keystroke profile.

Configuration parameters

Setting Default Description
Active Hardware Scanner Hon Main switch. Must be active to receive input from USB or Bluetooth pistols.
Auto-Confirm Qty=1 OFF Automatically confirms quantity 1 after each scan. Ideal for batch receiving operations where each scan equals one unit.
Scan Timeout 100 ms Time to wait to collect all barcode characters. If your scanner produces read errors, try increasing the value to 150–200 ms. Range: 50–300 ms.
Strip Prefix Empty Characters to automatically remove from the beginning of the read code. Some business scanners add identifying characters that could interfere with search.
Strip Suffix Empty Characters to automatically remove from the end of the read code (e.g. the carriage return character added by many scanners).
Sound Feedback Hon Emits a beep after each recognized scan. Separate from the scanner's hardware beep.
Vibration Feedback Hon Brief vibration after each valid scan. Useful in noisy environments where the beep is not noticeable.
Show camera button Hon Shows the camera button in operational screens. You can disable it if you only use hardware scanner.

Zebra DataWedge Configuration

If you have a Zebra device, enable the "Zebra DataWedge" toggle and then tap "Configure DataWedge Profile". The app automatically creates a profile called "SiltaFlow" in DataWedge without you having to open the DataWedge app manually. The profile is configured to send scan data directly to SiltaFlow, with LED, beep and vibration feedback according to your preferences.

On Zebra devices, always use DataWedge mode instead of Keyboard Wedge: offers latency below 50 ms, symbology detection and no risk of conflict with other text fields open on screen.

Voice Recognition

Voice recognition allows you to declare quantities and give operational commands using only your voice, without touching the screen. It works in combination with barcode scanning: scan the product, then speak to enter the quantity.

Voice recognition is handled by the device's speech recognition service; Siltatek does not receive the audio. Recognition may follow the settings and privacy notices of the operating system, Google, or the device manufacturer.

How to enable voice

Voice recognition has two independent switches:

When voice is active, the microphone starts automatically right after each successful barcode scan. You don't need to touch any button: scan the product and state the quantity.

Available voice commands

You can use three types of commands:

Voice configuration settings

Setting Default Description
Confidence Threshold 70% Minimum percentage of certainty required to accept a voice result. Range: 50–95%. High values (90%+) accept only very clear recognitions; low values (50–60%) are more responsive but with more margin of error.
Optional Confirmation OFF When active, displays a banner with the interpreted quantity before applying it. The operator can confirm, retry or cancel. Useful in noisy environments or for critical operations.
Silent Feedback OFF Disables voice recognition confirmation sounds. Enable if you work in an environment where app sounds are undesired.

Use the "Test Voice" button in settings to verify that the microphone works correctly before you start working. The test shows the transcribed text and confidence level in real time.

Warehouse Settings

This section controls SiltaFlow's operational behavior during warehouse activities: how product data is loaded, how weight barcodes are handled, how inventory counts work and much more.

Product Confirmation

Controls which additional data is retrieved from Odoo when you scan or select a product.

GS1 Weighted Barcodes

Weighted barcodes are GS1-128 codes that embed the product weight directly in the barcode — common in large-scale retail and food logistics. When this feature is active, SiltaFlow automatically reads the weight from the barcode and pre-fills it in the quantity field.

The "Sync Barcode Nomenclature from Odoo" button downloads custom barcode rules from your Odoo installation, so SiltaFlow respects your company's specific configurations instead of just using the generic GS1 standard.

Inventory Count

Configure the behavior of inventory counts: whether you want weight recorded during counting, which Odoo field to use for weight, and whether to automatically update product weight on Odoo after each count.

Delivery Weight Control

Enables weight verification during deliveries. You can choose between three levels of control:

You can configure a percentage tolerance (e.g. ±5%) within which the weight is automatically accepted without reporting an anomaly.

Cluster Picking

Cluster picking allows you to manage multiple orders simultaneously using a colored multi-bin cart. When active, each order is associated with a different color (up to 10 colors) so the operator always knows which compartment to put each scanned item in.

When cluster picking is enabled, choose how to associate orders and bins: touch selection from the list or a fully scan-driven workflow.

Electronic Signature

Enables collection of recipient signature at the end of a delivery. The signature is captured directly on the device screen and saved to Odoo. You can add a custom legal clause that appears below the signature field.

Unit of Measure Conversion

Configure unit of measure conversions for products that have different UoM between Odoo and your physical operations. Specify the Odoo field to use for each conversion type (weight, volume, length).

Manufacturing

Manufacturing settings are in the Warehouse area and control production flow, operator or workcenter, active sections, quality, scrap, anomalies and printing. All main sections are enabled by default: production orders, component picking, workstation and finished goods.

Manufacturing settings are included in the general settings backup, but the current operator or workcenter selection remains local to the device. See Manufacturing Settings for details.

Backup and Restore

Backup allows you to save all SiltaFlow configuration to a JSON file and restore it on any device. Useful for changing phones, distributing the same configuration to multiple team devices, or simply having a backup copy before major updates.

For security, Odoo passwords, API keys and admin PIN are never included in the backup file. The file can be shared between colleagues without risk of exposing credentials.

Admin Panel

The Admin Panel is a password-protected area dedicated to those managing SiltaFlow for a team of operators. From here you can decide which features are visible to operators: the ones you hide disappear completely from the interface, with no grey button or warning.

If you forget the admin password, there is no recovery procedure: the only way to reset the password is to uninstall and reinstall the app, resulting in loss of all local data. Keep the password in a safe place.

Access to Admin panel

The first time you access the Admin panel, you will be asked to set a password. This password is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored in the Android Keystore of the device: no third-party app can read or extract it.

Choose a secure password: at least 10 characters with uppercase, lowercase and numbers. Avoid short numeric PINs, vulnerable to dictionary attacks.

Manage module visibility

The Admin Panel offers 26 independent switches to control the visibility of each feature:

Changes are immediate: no app restart required. An operator who loses access to a feature will see it disappear the next time they access the screen.

Deploy configuration to multiple devices

The Admin Panel configuration can be exported to JSON and imported to other devices through the Backup function. This allows you to configure a "master device" and distribute the same configuration across your entire corporate fleet in minutes, without having to manually repeat the setup on each device.

Create different configuration profiles for each role: one JSON file for warehouse staff (with cluster picking and inventory), one for pickers (with picking and receiving only), one for managers (with everything active). Distribute the correct file based on role.

Tips

Make a full backup before updating SiltaFlow to a new major version. Even though data is generally preserved, a backup gives you the assurance of being able to restore your configuration in case of problems.

If your barcode pistol produces incomplete or double reads, the first thing to adjust is the scan timeout. Increase by 20 ms at a time until reads become stable.

In noisy environments (e.g. warehouses with forklifts or production lines), lower the voice confidence threshold to 55–65% and enable "Optional Confirmation". You will have more false negatives but fewer silent errors.

If operators work with thick gloves, set the UI Scale to 110% or 120%. Larger buttons reduce accidental touches and increase operational speed.
